There really is something magical about an arcade. They bring back memories of the golden age of video games in the ’80’s. The feeling of breaking a $5 dollar bill for 20 quarters and to see if you could reach that next level or beat that high score. Arcades now are hard to come by, the home consoles have pretty much put them out of business, but there are still some thriving in certain nooks and crannies across the land. My favorite is in Ocean City, NJ at a place called Jilly’s. Jilly’s offers a great mixture of newer and older games along with a great selection of pinball and skeeball. It’s open year round and 24 hours a day from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. So if you find yourself on the east coast and have a hankering for some good old fashion arcade action be sure to check out Jilly’s, my favorite arcade of all-time.
